Pulsed LED beacons are used to signify an alarm and to warn of danger.
They work by an electronic circuit inside the beacon controlling the light source, turning it off and on constantly according to the flash rate set by the end-user, for example 120fpm.
By using LED technology, we are able to create different flash rates and different shapes of light that we could not do before with filament bulbs.
Although an LED pulsed beacon has an initial higher cost to purchase than the old-style filament lamp pulsed beacon, there are many pros to consider:
⚡ LED beacons achieve full brightness fast so can therefore flash more times per second.
⚡ Minimal input current giving maximum light output and colour balance.
⚡ Multiple colours can be used in one unit.
⚡ Low power consumption.
⚡ High efficiency.
⚡ Less susceptible to shock and vibration.
⚡ Long life span.
